Iain was first drawn into the world of energy when 10 years ago, upon taking up meditation and yoga he found his body would shake and tremor sometimes quite violently as he felt the sensation of often powerful energies moving through him. Curious, but with an inner knowing that this was something positive and not something to be concerned about, he immersed himself in both Eastern and Western traditions extensively taking him into Eastern practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong where concepts of energy and the ways in which it can be blocked and subsequently released are foundational but also more modern Western psychological and somatic approaches to trauma and the body.
He came to understand that he had spent the great majority of his life up until that stage stuck in a state of dissociation from his body and as the energy was now starting to move he was feeling everything that had been stuck and accumulated there. He was able to observe and understand the reality of these theories and concepts within his own body and being.
In 2015 he had the fortune to work with an energy healer over an extended period of time and experienced the profound power of energy healing to support and assist with the release of trauma and limiting beliefs. After this he began practising informally with friends and family utilising his intuitive abilities (a lifelong musician he instantly recognised the intuitive healing state to be almost identical to the one he would go to when creating and improvising where one steps aside and allows oneself to be a vessel and conduit for a higher power). Keen to put his abilities to wider use, in 2019 he formalised these skills by training with Rebecca Donaghue, a graduate of the highly respected Barbara Brennan School of Healing.
For Iain, energy healing is at its core, providing a loving, safe and non-judgemental container in which others may open up to the beauty of their own selves and feel and move through those areas that may otherwise be too challenging to do alone - this is how true healing occurs.
