Integrative Healer · Glasgow

When something feels stuck, sometimes it needs to be met differently.

You may know exactly what you are struggling with, or simply have a sense that something in you needs attention.

I offer 90-minute one-to-one sessions in Glasgow, combining talking with fully clothed table work using touch, sound and guided attention.

You do not need to know exactly what you want to work on.

You may feel overwhelmed, keep returning to the same thought or situation, or know something needs to change without quite knowing what.

You may already have thought about it a great deal, talked about it in therapy or explored it through meditation. You can understand why you react the way you do and still find yourself caught in the same reaction.

Sometimes understanding something is not enough to make it feel different.

You do not need to arrive with an explanation. We can begin with whatever has led you to come that day.

A session

What happens in a session

We begin by talking, with time for you to say as much or as little as feels right.

We then move to the therapy table, where you remain fully clothed. I work with hands-on touch, sound, periods of quiet and guided attention, responding to what is happening rather than following a fixed sequence.

Sometimes emotion, bodily sensation, imagery or memory may arise. Sometimes the session is quiet and deeply restful.

Touch is never assumed. We discuss your boundaries, and you can ask me to change or stop at any time.

There is no performance required.

“I straight away felt like it would be safe to explore and express whatever was coming up for me […] There was a lot coming up for me in the days that followed that session, and a lot has shifted since then.”

More like yourself

When something has been taking up a lot of space, life can gradually become organised around it. Trying to fix yourself. Going over what has happened. And then being hard on yourself because you are still struggling.

Sometimes feeling better looks less like a breakthrough and more like forgetting, for a while, that there was something you were trying to fix.

You notice the flowers in the park. Hear the birds. Find yourself humming while you cook. Have a little dance in the kitchen. Become absorbed in what a friend is saying. Smile at somebody behind a counter.

Nothing remarkable has necessarily happened.

Your life has simply become a little bigger than the problem again.

One of the things people most often tell me after a session is that they feel more like themselves.

There can be something surprisingly emotional about that recognition. You may not realise how far away from yourself you have felt until you feel yourself there again.

Not someone new. Someone familiar.

The work is with you, not on you.

My role is to offer attention and presence in which what is happening can be met without immediately needing to become something else.

That includes the parts of you that are frightened, angry, confused, doubtful or simply tired of dealing with it.

You remain the primary authority on your own experience.

The difference between no space and a little space can be enormous.

The feeling may still be there. The situation may still be difficult. But something that previously seemed completely automatic can begin to have a little room around it.

About Iain

Listening is at the heart of my work.

I am an integrative healer, musician and sound artist based in Glasgow.

Listening is central to both sides of my work: noticing subtle changes in movement, tension, intensity, rhythm and silence, and allowing what happens next to emerge from what is actually there.

My background is in energy healing, including training with Rebecca Donaghue in the Barbara Brennan tradition. If you are looking for energy healing or Reiki in Glasgow, my sessions draw on that background while bringing together talking, touch and sound. You do not need to believe in energy or any particular spiritual explanation for us to work together.

Alongside one-to-one work I run Glasgow Soundbath and make experimental music as Effective Dreaming.

A space in Glasgow

Sessions take place at Mango Studio, 72 Berkeley Street, in Glasgow.

You do not need to prepare anything. Come in comfortable clothing, with whatever has led you to get in touch.

You do not have to make yourself feel differently.

We can begin with whatever is actually here.

One-to-one sessions last 90 minutes and cost £120.

If you would like to arrange a session, send me a short message and we can find a suitable time. You do not need to explain everything in your first message — a few words about what has led you to get in touch is enough.
